The Grapeland Sandies lost against the Centerville Tigers on January 9th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Grapeland fell to Centerville 45-40. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Grapeland in their matchups with Centerville: they've now lost four in a row.
Grapeland lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mikayla Woods, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Woods hasn't dropped below two steals for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Aliyah Tryon, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Grapeland now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Centerville, they pushed their record up to 14-18 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Grapeland will face off against Latexo at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Latexo has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1. As for Centerville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Groveton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
