After flying high against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder on Saturday, the Aquinas Monarchs came back down to earth. Aquinas took a 46-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of Howells-Dodge on Tuesday. Aquinas was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Howells-Dodge apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Despite the loss, Aquinas still got an impressive performance from Bryant Stouffer, who scored 19 points along with 7 rebounds. Stouffer scored a full 55.9% of Aquinas' points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Aquinas' defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Howells-Dodge, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Aquinas will take on Archbishop Bergan at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Howells-Dodge, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family. Hopefully Humphrey/Lindsay Holy Family focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Saturday.
