Bradley Northcutt and Kyle Sikes provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Jefferson Davis. The longest such play in 6A Region 3 this season, the connection resulted in 85 yards.
The Volunteers moved up to 159 from 191 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Jefferson Davis climbed the ranks as a result of falling to Auburn 45-18.
The Tigers' dynamic duo of Northcutt and Sikes proved to be unstoppable against Lee Carter's team, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Northcutt threw for 244 yards and 2 touchdowns and Sikes had 156 yards receiving.

Devarion Barnes was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 13 carries, he ran for 87 yards as Opelika topped Jefferson Davis. Reggie Hall also contributed to the rushing game with 56 yards on the ground.

Sikes was the best receiver in 6A Region 3 this week as Auburn beat Jefferson Davis.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Tigers' Northcutt and Sikes have proven to be a lethal combination. Northcutt has thrown for 315 yards this season, while Sikes has 3 catches for 156 yards. Hall from the Bulldogs leads the league in rushing with 184 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Smiths Station takes on Auburn. As it stands, the Panthers are in first, while the Tigers are in fourth.
Smiths Station took down Lanier 49-8 last week, the largest margin of any game.
