The Gilbert Tigers are taking a road trip to square off against the ALA - Gilbert North Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Gilbert has given up an average of 31 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Gilbert was handed a 23-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Campo Verde 49-46.

A big part of Gilbert's win came down to the chemistry between Zane Grant and his top target Jonathan Guy. Grant threw for 317 yards and four TDs while Guy gained 172 total yards and four touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Grant a new career-high in rushing yards (25).
Special teams played a big role in the game for Gilbert, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Guy, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, ALA - Gilbert North got themselves on the board against Skyline on Friday, but Skyline never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Coyotes 63-0. That 63 point margin sets a new team best for the Eagles this season.
Gilbert better keep an eye on Ben Livingston. He was instrumental in ALA - Gilbert North's win, throwing for 215 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also punching in one score on the ground. Isaac Massey also helped with two TDs in total.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something ALA - Gilbert North proved: they limited Skyline to a paltry 0.2 yards per carry. While three picked up at least three total tackles, Ridge Jobe stood above the rest. He picked up three sacks and made three total tackles. ALA - Gilbert North hasn't allowed more than 2.9 yards per carry in three consecutive contests.
ALA - Gilbert North didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Weston Powell and Stockton Dye. Another thorn in Skyline's side was Jobe, who picked up three sacks and made three total tackles.
ALA - Gilbert North's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.7 points over those games. As for Gilbert, their record is now 4-2.
We should be in store for an exciting game as Gilbert and ALA - Gilbert North have no problem gaining yardage. The Tigers have been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 378 total yards per game. However, it's not like ALA - Gilbert North struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 354.7 total yards. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Gilbert came up short against ALA - Gilbert North in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, falling 20-10. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
