After a string of four wins, Oak Hill's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell 7-4 to the Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Flying Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-4 two weeks ago.

KK Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Kinzlee Dove made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Oak Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Woodrow Wilson, their record now sits at 11-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oak Hill will take on Nicholas County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Red Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Grizzlies have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Woodrow Wilson, they will face off against Wyoming East at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
