Omaha Lightning's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 71-35 defeat at the hands of Mid-Missouri HomeSchool. Omaha Lightning was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-11.
Leading Mid-Missouri HomeSchool to victory were Paul Hayes and Kyle Aulgur. Hayes scored 16 points along with three steals, while Aulgur scored 21 points along with nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Hayes, who scored nine points.
Omaha Lightning dropped their record down to 0-2 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.7 points per game. As for Mid-Missouri HomeSchool, the win was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-2.
Omaha Lightning will head out on the road to take on Kansas City East Christian Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Kansas City East Christian Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups. Mid-Missouri HomeSchool's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lighthouse Christian at 1:30 p.m. on January 27th. Lighthouse Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
