Purchase Line was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight  loss. They lost  11-2 to the Homer-Center Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Purchase Line of the  9-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  last Monday.
  Austin Chambers put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  4.2 innings while giving up just two earned  (and five unearned) runs off   eight  hits. Chambers has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances. Chambers was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with two  stolen bases.
 In other batting news,  Devlan Kordish made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 4-for-4.
 Even though they lost, Purchase Line  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with eight  strikeouts. This was only their 11th loss (out of 12 games) when  they post five or more  strikeouts.
 Like Purchase Line, Homer-Center also got a great game from a two-way player:  Braden Dunn. On the mound, he  struck out ten batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   nine  hits (and only one walk). Dunn was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Caleb Palmer was a standout: he scored three  runs while going 3-for-4.  Owen Saiani was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances.
 Purchase Line's loss dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Homer-Center, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 12 of their last 13 games,  which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record  this season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Purchase Line will  face off against Penns Manor at 3:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Homer-Center, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Bishop McCort at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
