Bolles has gone a perfect 3-0 against Andrew Jackson recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. Bolles knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Andrew Jackson likes a good challenge.
Bolles is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. Everything went their way against Baldwin last Friday as they made off with a 73-49 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Bulldogs' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Indians are ranked 208th).
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Xander Edwards and Nashawn Jacobs. Edwards had a great game and rushed for 522 yards and eight TDs while picking up 13.4 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Jacobs was balling out in the loss, picking up 126 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 108 yards and one touchdown.
Bolles didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Santana Starks and Dashaydon Phillips.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Andrew Jackson, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in September. They enjoyed a cozy 44-30 victory over Wolfson last Friday. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Wolfpack: they've now won six in a row.
Andrew Jackson's win came from a few key players Bolles will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jeremiah Hampton, who rushed for 101 yards and three TDs on only seven carries. Another player making a difference was Lamar Stanfield, who rushed for 82 yards and one touchdown.
Andrew Jackson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 350 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive games.
One reason for the win was Andrew Jackson's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Johnny Miller, Charles Ward, and Laterrance McKenzie, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Wolfson's side was Miller, who picked up a sack, made eight total tackles, and defended one pass.
The victory got Andrew Jackson back to even at 3-3. As for Bolles, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Bolles has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 272.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Andrew Jackson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 177.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Bolles took their victory against Andrew Jackson in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 26-0 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
