The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Boothbay in their matchups with Spruce Mountain: they've now lost four in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Boothbay lost, one person who can't be blamed is Finn Harkins. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points along with seven rebounds. That was a full 55.6% of Boothbay's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Luke Morley was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Boothbay has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Spruce Mountain, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-6.
Boothbay does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Spruce Mountain, they will face off against York at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Spruce Mountain is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
