After a string of four wins, the Griffith Panthers's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They received a tough blow as they fell 51-34 to Crown Point. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Griffith has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Griffith saw an underclassman step up: Jalen Wilson scored 11 points. Savon Miles was another key contributor, scoring four points along with three steals.
Griffith's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-6. As for Crown Point, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.
Griffith will head out on the road to face off against River Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Crown Point, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Merrillville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Merrillville's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
