The McCormick Chiefs stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They breezed by Thornwell on the road to the tune of 76-11. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-8.
Among those leading the charge was Dequincy Jennings, who scored 15 points along with seven steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Demontae Wideman was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with three steals.
The win was the fifth in a row for McCormick, bringing their record for this year to 15-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Thornwell, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-10.
McCormick will be playing in front of their home fans against Whitmire at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Whitmire will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 260th, while McCormick is ranked 97th). As for Thornwell, they will head out on the road to square off against Calhoun Falls Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
