Softball Recap: Smithfield Wins Going Away Against Lafayette

Smithfield won the last time they faced Lafayette and things went their way on Wednesday too. Smithfield blew past Lafayette 12-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Packers.

Cheyenne Debusk was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Smithfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .688. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lafayette only posted an OBP of .455.

Smithfield now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Lafayette, their defeat was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Smithfield is set to take on their familiar foe Tabb at 4:30 p.m. on April 4. Meanwhile, Lafayette will challenge rival New Kent at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
