The Cooper City Cowboys fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 15-12 victory over South Plantation on Monday. This was payback for Cooper City, who suffered a 35-14 loss the last time these two teams met.
Cooper City's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brady Dillon, who picked up 124 receiving yards and a touchdown. Dillon's longest reception was for an incredible 86 yards.
Cooper City's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was Mason Greenstein and his two sacks.
Although South Plantation took the loss, they still got scores from Shawn Rice and Sakib Muhammad.
Cooper City's victory bumped their record up to 2-7. As for South Plantation, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.
Cooper City will be playing in front of their home fans against Cypress Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cypress Bay presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Cooper City in Florida (Cypress Bay is ranked 153rd, while Cooper City is ranked 452nd). As for South Plantation, they will head out on the road to face off against Everglades at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Everglades and South Plantation are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads.
