The Lakota East Thunderhawks scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 67-41 margin over Middletown. The victory was familiar territory for Lakota East who now have four in a row.
Lakota East's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooke Asher, who scored eight points along with three steals. Asher has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Katlyn Pham, who scored 12 points.
Middletown lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jamia Jones, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Leila Johnson, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds.
Lakota East is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Middletown, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakota East will play host again and welcome Oak Hills, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Oak Hills focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Saturday. Middletown will be home for the holidays to greet Mason at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mason is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 62.4 points per game.
