Last Friday, Carson suffered a rough 45-24 defeat at the hands of Central Cabarrus. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Carson in their matchups with Central Cabarrus: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the defeat, Carson saw an underclassman step up: Rylee Hedrick scored 13 points along with 5 steals. Hedrick scored a full 54.2% of Carson's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
West Rowan has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 22 points or more this season. Everything went their way against North Rowan on Wednesday as West Rowan made off with a 65-43 win.
Carson has yet to win a match at home this season, leaving them with a 0-5 record. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.2 points per game. As for West Rowan, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Carson was taken down by West Rowan 79-26 in their previous matchup back in January. Can Carson avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
