4A Narrows recap October 1, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 4A Narrows this week, Olympia beat Stadium 54-6. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
The Tigers fell to Olympia 54-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Gig Harbor's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Connor Scanlan threw for 49 yards and Santana Johnson had 24 yards receiving. On the ground Sterling Brown chipped in 209 yards.
The Tides' dynamic duo of Scanlan and Johnson proved to be unstoppable against Central Kitsap, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Brown was a passing and rushing force as Gig Harbor topped the Cougars. Brown's key target this week was Johnson, who caught 3 passes for 24 yards.
Connor Stephens made the biggest impact on defense this week as Aaron Chantler's team beat Central Kitsap. The 6-foot-1 defensive back racked up 2.0 sacks.
Bellarmine Prep's Lou Millie and Garrett McKay led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Millie has thrown for 358 yards this season, while McKay, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 10 catches for 211 yards. The Tides' Brown leads the league in rushing yards with 417.
The Lions are in first place, while Stadium is in sixth place.
Bill Beattie's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 54 points on Jess Nelson's team.
