Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Hardin Northern's offense. They fell just short of Spencerville by a score of 2-0 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Polar Bears have suffered since April 10th.

This is the second loss in a row for Hardin Northern and nudges their season record down to 14-4. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Allen East, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Allen East took their victory against Hardin Northern when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
