The Thomas Jefferson Vikings won against the J.R. Tucker Tigers last Monday with 66 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Thomas Jefferson secured a 66-61 W over J.R. Tucker. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Thomas Jefferson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cameron Sampson out in front who scored 18 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Sampson has scored at least 25% of Thomas Jefferson's points. Zaymon Harris was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
The win got Thomas Jefferson back to even at 2-2. As for J.R. Tucker, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Thomas Jefferson won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Stafford at 10:00 a.m. on December 9th. Hopefully Stafford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Wednesday. As for J.R. Tucker, they will head out on the road to face off against Godwin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Godwin presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than J.R. Tucker in Virginia (Godwin is ranked 65th, while J.R. Tucker is ranked 291st).
