The Foxcroft Academy Ponies lost against the Caribou Vikings back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Foxcroft Academy was beaten by Caribou 68-38. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Foxcroft Academy in their matchups with Caribou: they've now lost seven in a row.
Several Ponies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Allie Smith, who scored four points along with eight rebounds. Smith has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Halle Page, who scored nine points.
Foxcroft Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Caribou, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.
Foxcroft Academy has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Hermon at 7:00 p.m. on January 2nd. Hermon comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Caribou, they will head out on the road to face off against Presque Isle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Maine (Presque Isle is ranked 29th, while Caribou is ranked 37th).
