Softball Recap: Marana Has No Trouble Against Rincon/University

Marana never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Rincon/University Rangers as they made off with an 18-0 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Not much got past Emma Winter, who gave up just a hit to keep Rincon/University off the board. Winter has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Marana let Bella Corona and Maya Cormell run wild. Corona went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Cormell scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Cormell a new career-high in doubles (two). Bella Sayre was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.

Marana always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rincon/University only posted an OBP of .235.

Marana's victory bumped their record up to 14-10. As for Rincon/University, they dropped their record down to 5-14 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Marana wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-1 defeat against Sunnyside on the 14th. As for Rincon/University, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 17-1 loss against Tucson High Magnet School on the 14th.
