Champaign Central is headed into the  game out to prove that what happened against Bloomington  on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Champaign Central might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Bloomington an easy  58-36 victory. While losing is never fun, the Maroons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings  (they are ranked 377th, while the Purple Raiders are ranked 145th).
 Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from  Samara McArthur, who  posted ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Alex Parastaran, who  earned eight  points along with seven  boards and five  blocks.
 Meanwhile, Teutopolis earned  a  54-46 win over Newton  on Thursday.
 Teutopolis' victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Champaign Central, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
 Champaign Central took a serious blow against Teutopolis  in their previous matchup  back in November, falling  68-29. That  matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Champaign Central was down  35-15.
