Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Canterbury walked away with it. They secured a 19-14 W over The Classical Academy of Sarasota on Friday. The victory was just what Canterbury needed coming off of a 42-0 loss in their prior contest.
Canterbury relied on the efforts of Jordan Battle, who rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and Roman Wilder, who rushed for 178 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.4 yards per carry. Battle was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 54 yards.
Meanwhile, Real Life Christian Academy stacked a fifth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Sports Leadership & Management 50-20 at home. The victory was just what Real Life Christian Academy needed coming off of a 34-6 loss in their prior game.
Tysen Miller was a one-man wrecking crew for Real Life Christian Academy as he rushed for 160 yards and five touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 21 yards and a touchdown. Johnny Olsen was another key contributor, gaining 64 total yards and two touchdowns.
Canterbury has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for Real Life Christian Academy, they have yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 8-3 record.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Canterbury has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 253.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Real Life Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 181.9 per game.
