Chloe Barlow made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Lexi Hardy was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Grayce Defazio, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Robert C. Byrd always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lewis County only posted an OBP of .382.
Doddridge County came out on top against Ravenswood on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Red Devils with a sharp 9-1 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.
Maysun Gagnon was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Madison Curran was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
The win got Robert C. Byrd back to even at 12-12. As for Doddridge County, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Robert C. Byrd has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Doddridge County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Robert C. Byrd might still be hurting after the 15-1 defeat they got from Doddridge County in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
