In what's become a running theme this season, the Cranston West Falcons gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat St. Raphael Academy 64-37 on the road. That's another feather in the cap for Cranston West, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Cranston West got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maia Riccio out in front who almost dropped a triple-double on 11 points, 16 rebounds, and nine assists. It was the first time this season that Riccio posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Tedeschi-moran, who scored 14 points along with seven steals and five assists.
Cranston West is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for St. Raphael Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cranston West will take on North Kingstown at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. North Kingstown is coming into the contest with five straight victories on the road, meaning Cranston West will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for St. Raphael Academy, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Classical at 6:30 p.m. on February 13th.
