Neumann Regional Academy hasn't had much luck against Millville recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Golden Knights will venture away from home to square off against the Quakers at 4:30 p.m. Neumann Regional Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11 runs per game this season.
Neumann Regional Academy proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by nine) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Benton 4-3. While the Golden Knights didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-11-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Angelo Birch made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Birch wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Walter, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Maverick Dunkleburger was another, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Millville got the win against Bucktail on Friday by a conclusive 11-1. The Quakers haven't had any issues with the Bucks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Like Neumann Regional Academy, Millville also got a great game from a two-way player: Evan Brokenshire. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Brokenshire was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, Nathan Benedict was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Curtis Whitmoyer, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Neumann Regional Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Millville, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Neumann Regional Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Millville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Neumann Regional Academy couldn't quite get it done against Millville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-1. Can the Golden Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
