The Sunrise Mountain Mustangs can now show off 15 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Thursday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 69-37 victory over Ironwood. The win was nothing new for Sunrise Mountain as they're now sitting on five straight.
Sunrise Mountain's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaden Maza led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Maza continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last five games she's played. Addison Wiemann was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with eight rebounds.
Sunrise Mountain has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Ironwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-16.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sunrise Mountain on the road again on Tuesday and play against Centennial at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Centennial will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while Sunrise Mountain is ranked 25th). As for Ironwood, they will head out on the road to take on Kellis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kellis will be looking to keep their 11-game home win streak alive.
