Madison Academy snuck past Dayspring Academy with a 75-71 victory. That's another feather in the cap for Madison Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
When it comes to explaining why Dayspring Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is John-Michael Martin. Despite the final result, he shot 4-for-8 from downtown and dropped a triple-double on 45 points, 14 rebounds, and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Martin has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Jackson, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Madison Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Dayspring Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-15.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madison Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Jonathan Edwards Classical Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th. As for Dayspring Academy, they will head out on the road to take on United Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. United Christian Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
