The Lake City Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their ninth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 84-54 loss at the hands of Darlington. While losing is never fun, Lake City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Falcons are ranked 34th).
When it comes to explaining why Lake City lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bryson Rose. Despite the final result, he dropped a triple-double on 19 points, 11 rebounds, and ten steals. Another player making a difference was Blayne Edwards, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 14 rebounds.
Lake City has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 11 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season. As for Darlington, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.
