Basketball Game Preview: Braham Bombers vs. Rush City Tigers

Braham and Rush City are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Braham Bombers will welcome the Rush City Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Braham's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Braham is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Floodwood, posting a 112-35 victory. The Bombers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 25 points or more this season.

Braham can attribute much of their success to Garett Lidke, who went 14 of 17 on his way to 34 points along with six boards and four steals, and Tanner Doble, who almost dropped a double-double on 24 points and nine steals. Doble's evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Eklund, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 assists.

Braham smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Rush City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 76-41 loss at the hands of Mille Lacs co-op [Isle/Onamia].

Braham pushed their record up to 10-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 91.0 points per game. As for Rush City, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Braham skirted past Rush City 58-55 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Will Braham repeat their success, or does Rush City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
