B District 3 recap October 22, 2013
Gretna added to the longest winning streak in B District 3 this week by beating Elkhorn, 17-10. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Mount Michael Benedictine lost to Elkhorn South 45-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Brady Radik made the biggest impact on defense this week as Gretna bested the Antlers. The 6-foot-0 senior pulled down 1 interception.
Steve Worthing put up the best numbers in passing as the Storm defeated the Knights. He finished with a total of 6 completions for 96 yards and 1 touchdown. Worthing's favorite target this week was Chad Carlos, who caught 2 passes for 32 yards.
Gretna's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Dragons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Nick Stoltenberg has thrown for 1,026 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Derek Templeman has 22 catches for 429 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Elkhorn takes on Elkhorn South. At the moment, Mark Wortman's team is in third, while Guy Rosenberg's team is in second.
The Storm led the league in scoring this week after putting up 45 points on Mount Michael Benedictine. Worthing ran for 34 yards in the win.
