Softball Recap: West Limestone Extends Road Winning Streak to 13

West Limestone had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Winfield on Friday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Pirates. Considering the Wildcats have won 14 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Aubrey Bethune was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lilee Legg, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

West Limestone hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in nine consecutive games.

West Limestone's win was their 13th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 28-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Winfield, they moved to 31-13 with that loss, which also ended their ten-game winning streak.

West Limestone wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 1-1 tie against Madison Academy on the 24th. As for Winfield, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-1 defeat against Brooks on the 24th.
