The Northwest Vikings entered their tilt with the Ogallala Indians with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Northwest walked away with a 45-38 victory over Ogallala on Tuesday.
Leading Northwest to victory were Jolie O?hara and Reagan Mcintyre. O?hara scored 13 points along with five steals, while Mcintyre scored nine points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. Those eight steals set a new season-high mark for her. Haylee Brandt was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Northwest's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Ogallala, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-2.
Northwest will head out on the road to face off against Broken Bow at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Broken Bow is on a four-game streak of home wins, Northwest a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Ogallala will be home for the holidays to greet Sandhills/Thedford at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Sandhills/Thedford is ranked 49th, while Ogallala is ranked 60th).
