Moore Haven hasn't had much luck against Okeechobee recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Terriers will challenge the Brahmans at 7:00 p.m. Moore Haven is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.
Moore Haven will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Wednesday, then bounced right back against Gateway on Thursday. The Terriers put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 18-2 win. The Terriers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by six runs or more this season.
Brooklyn Sergent made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March.

In other batting news, Charisma Micco and Lydia Lee did most of the damage at the plate: Micco went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Lee scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave Lee a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Khloe Desroche, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Moore Haven was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .762. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Okeechobee beat Jensen Beach 4-1 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Brahmans.
Alyssa Madrigal spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits.
On the hitting side, Okeechobee's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tehya Nunez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Okeechobee's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Moore Haven, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.
Okeechobee's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Moore Haven has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .444. It's a different story for Okeechobee, though, as they've only averaged .319. Will they be able to contain Moore Haven's hitters?
Moore Haven might still be hurting after the 8-2 loss they got from Okeechobee in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can the Terriers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
