The Salem Hills Skyhawks will be playing at home against the Wasatch Wasps at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Salem Hills was able to grind out a solid win over Spanish Fork, taking the game 56-45. The win made it back-to-back wins for Salem Hills.
Brooke Warren was her usual excellent self, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Hattie Parkinson, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Wasatch strolled past Cedar Valley with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 51-36.
It was another big night for Ashley Garner, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 20 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Peyton Behnke was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Salem Hills pushed their record up to 10-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Wasatch, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
Tuesday's game is shaping up to be a scrappy match: Salem Hills have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 29.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Wasatch struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 32.9 rebounds per game. Given Salem Hills' sizeable advantage in that area, Wasatch will need to find a way to close that gap.
Salem Hills came up short against Wasatch in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 60-52. Will Salem Hills have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
