D'Iberville has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Hancock Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though D'Iberville has not done well against West Harrison recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way last Tuesday. D'Iberville strolled past West Harrison with points to spare, taking the game 51-36.
D'Iberville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Teeale Wells, who scored 18 points along with 3 steals. The contest was Wells' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amiyah Simpkins, who scored 16 points along with 8 steals.
Meanwhile, Hancock put another one in the bag two weeks ago to keep their perfect season alive. They beat Pass Christian by the very same score they won with last week: 52-17. Considering Hancock has won three games by more than 34 points this season, two weeks ago's blowout was nothing new.
D'Iberville's win bumped their season record to 5-3 while West Harrison's defeat dropped theirs to 1-4.
D'Iberville took a serious blow against Hancock in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 49-20. Can D'Iberville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
