Coram Deo Academy has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Trinity Christian Trojans at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Coram Deo Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Trinity Christian likes a good challenge.
Even though Coram Deo Academy has not done well against Fort Worth Christian recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Coram Deo Academy walked away with a 63-56 victory over Fort Worth Christian. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Coram Deo Academy can attribute much of their success to Campbell Skelly, who scored 19 points, and Selah Johnson, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds. The contest was Johnson's 20th in a row with at least ten points. Emily Revering was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, Trinity Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Anna, falling 58-20.
Coram Deo Academy's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points per game. As for Trinity Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
Coram Deo Academy suffered a grim 52-28 defeat to Trinity Christian when the teams last played back in November of 2019. Can Coram Deo Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
