Baseball Recap: Six Straight Home Victories for Oakridge

While Oakridge put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for St. Mark. The Owls blew past the Lions 7-0. The Owls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Cole Worthington made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Dylan Robinson and Easton Jefferson did most of the damage at the plate: Robinson scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1, while Jefferson scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Oakridge pushed their record up to 13-8-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for St. Mark's, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oakridge will square off against Episcopal School of Dallas at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Owls are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for St. Mark's, they will welcome Fort Worth Country Day at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
