The Oak Hill Golden Eagles and the Bellmont Braves squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but sadly the Oak Hill Golden Eagles had to settle for second. They fell 42-31 to the Braves. Oak Hill has struggled against the Braves recently, as their game on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Oak Hill saw an underclassman step up: Lydia Trexler scored ten points. Trexler is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Alivia Shaw, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Oak Hill has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for Bellmont, their win bumped their record up to 16-7.
Oak Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bellmont will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Northwestern will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 241st, while the Braves are ranked 66th).
