The Seguin Matadors lost against the Boerne-Champion Chargers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Seguin took a hard 66-51 fall against Boerne-Champion. While losing is never fun, Seguin can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while Boerne-Champion is ranked 60th).
Seguin's loss came despite strong showings from Corey Dailey and John Jackson. Dailey scored 18 points along with five rebounds, while Jackson scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. Jackson hasn't dropped below 17 points for 13 straight games.
Seguin has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-16 record this season. As for Boerne-Champion, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 28-4.
Seguin will look to defend their home court on Friday against Pieper at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Seguin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. As for Boerne-Champion, they will head out on the road to challenge Wagner at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Wagner is coming into the game with three straight wins at home, meaning Boerne-Champion will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
