The Dorman Cavaliers waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They walked away with a 55-45 win over James F. Byrnes. For Dorman, this counts as revenge for the 47-42 defeat the Rebels walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Dorman's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rihanna Wallace, who scored 18 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Wallace continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Nakiyah Kelly was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
James F. Byrnes' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Olivia Brockman, who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brockman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chassidy Rookard, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Dorman has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for James F. Byrnes, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-7.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Gaffney the next time they take the court. Dorman will host the Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Rebels will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
