Basketball Recap: Uzziah Ahhaitty Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Lookeba-Sickles

Carnegie's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lookeba-Sickles Panthers, sneaking past 46-43. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Carnegie's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Uzziah Ahhaitty, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 15 points. Those 15 points gave Ahhaitty a new career-high. Kevin Galvez was another key player, putting up nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Carnegie's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Lookeba-Sickles, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Carnegie Wildcats take on the Mountain View-Gotebo Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lookeba-Sickles, they will venture away from home to square off against Duke at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
