After two games on the road, Manchester is heading back home. They will take on The Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Manchester will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 525th, while Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy is ranked 182nd).
Last Friday, Manchester came up short against Fairless and fell 19-9.
Meanwhile, Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 35-13 margin over Orrville. The result was nothing new for Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, who have now won six matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.
Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Charley Levak, who rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 76 yards and a touchdown on only seven passes. Ricky Levak was another key contributor, gaining 63 total yards and two touchdowns.
Manchester's defeat was their tenth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.8 points per game. Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Manchester took a serious blow against Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 48-14. Thankfully for Manchester, Kyle Snider (who rushed for 107 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
