Providence Classical has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Cornerstone Christian Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Friday, Providence Classical was the victim of a rough 65-41 loss at the hands of East Central HomeSchool.
Meanwhile, Cornerstone Christian had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points), and they went ahead and made it six last Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 56-41 win over Rocket City. Winning is a bit easier when you drain seven more threes than your opponent, as Cornerstone Christian did.
Cornerstone Christian found their leader in underclassman Tamia Ballard, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Ballard has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Evie Reed was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Providence Classical's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Cornerstone Christian, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.
Providence Classical might still be hurting after the 49-29 defeat they got from Cornerstone Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2023.
