The River City Believers Academy Soldiers can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Gateway Christian by a score of 42-35. For River City Believers Academy, this counts as revenge for the 34-31 defeat Gateway Christian walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2023.
River City Believers Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nate Garcia , who scored nine points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Josh Thompson, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
River City Believers Academy's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9. As for Gateway Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing First Baptist Academy the next time they take the court. River City Believers Academy will head out to face First Baptist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Gateway Christian will host them at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th.
