North Thurston is on a ten-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while the Blazers are on a five-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The North Thurston Rams will take on the Timberline Blazers at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. North Thurston has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 792 points over their last 12 matchups.
In what's become a running theme this season, North Thurston gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They really took it to Gig Harbor for the full four quarters, racking up a 71-36 victory at home. North Thurston pushed the score to 49-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tides had little chance of recovering from.
It was another big night for Ray Adams, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below two blocks for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahmari Steplight, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Timberline strolled past the Seahawks with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 70-54. 70 seems to be a good number for Timberline as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Timberline can attribute much of their success to Josh Tichenor, who scored 16 points along with seven steals and five assists, and Darrell Gipson, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Gipson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Cedric Ragland Jr, who scored nine points along with five steals.
North Thurston has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season. As for Timberline, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the pair are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. North Thurston hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 64.7 points per game. However, it's not like Timberline struggles in that department as they've been averaging 60.2 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
North Thurston was able to grind out a solid victory over the Blazers when the teams last played back in January, winning 70-57. Will North Thurston repeat their success, or do the Blazers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
