After flying high against Smoky Valley last Tuesday, Hesston came back down to earth. The Swathers took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Larned Indians on Friday. The Swathers' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Blayne Wilson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Hesston's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 6-2. As for Larned, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hesston beat the Indians by a score of 12-2 later that day.
