Van Meter (Iowa) snapped the five-game winning streak of
Mt. Ayr (Iowa), with a 14-0 victory on Saturday.
The lead that the Bulldogs took on a touchdown pass by
Brandon Brittain to
Grant Hoppes with 5:00 remaining in the second quarter stood up for the duration of the game, as neither team managed to score in the second half.
Van Meter had given up an average of 12.2 points prior to the contest.
VM got revenge for last year's 25-13 loss to the Raiders with the victory.
The loss comes after Mt. Ayr defeated Des Moines Christian 35-0 last week.
Van Meter (6-0) will play a 1A District 7 game against Pella Christian next week, while Mt. Ayr (5-1) will take on Central Decatur also in a 1A District 7 game.
