Carver is 1-9 against Winston-Salem Prep since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Carver Yellowjackets will head out on the road to face off against the Winston-Salem Prep Phoenix at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Carver focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Friday.
Carver suffered their biggest loss since December 15, 2023 on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 64-40 loss at the hands of Bishop McGuinness. It was the first time this season that Carver let down their fans at home.
Despite their loss, Carver saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jeremiah Glaspie, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Kejuan Bruton was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Winston-Salem Prep can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They blew past Triad Math and Science Academy, posting a 69-42 victory on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Winston-Salem Prep has posted since December 15, 2023.
Carver's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-8. As for Winston-Salem Prep, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-10.
Carver was able to grind out a solid victory over Winston-Salem Prep when the teams last played back in December of 2023, winning 72-65. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carver since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
