If Clever was feeling good fresh off their 35-8 takedown of Hollister last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Jays took a 17-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Strafford Indians on Friday. The Blue Jays' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Kendall Piper and Quintin Lemmer certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Piper rushed for 83 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries, while Lemmer rushed for 109 yards.

Clever's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 6-2. As for Strafford, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-6.

Clever didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 13-7 win against Springfield Catholic on the 24th. As for Strafford, they have also already played their next game, a 35-7 loss against Fair Grove on the 24th.
