If The Luther Lions were riding high off their 72-0 takedown of the Kellyville Ponies last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Luther's tough 50-28 loss to Meeker on Friday might stick with them for a while. Despite the loss, Luther still got an impressive performance from Ruben Vega, who rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also threw for 124 yards and a touchdown. Vega is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Maurtice Wright, who rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Meeker was led to victory by Ajay Lynch and Treyvon Compton. Lynch rushed for 197 yards and a touchdown, while Compton rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. Kayde Massey was in the mix too, providing Meeker with two touchdowns.
